Coat of Arms Research

You are responsible for researching your specific coat of arms for the province that you chose last week.

On a piece of loose leaf paper you and your partner need to research your provincial coat of arms and find out what each symbol means.

You and your partner will be responsible for presenting your information to the class where you will be evaluated.

Thursday Oct. 14

After the long weekend all the students were very eager to tell me what they got up to!
We are continuing with our unit in social about Canada, including how to read scale maps, symbols, provinces/cities etc. The latest project that the students are completing is researching the provincial coat of arms and explaining what the symbols mean.
In science we have just completed the circulatory system and moving on to the nervous system.
In art we have began graffiti art! This project started with each student making some sort of shape or line on each of their classmates papers. Then the student found a portion of the paper that they wanted to color. This will be displayed in the next week or so as a class collage.
Math unit 1 is coming to the end and in the next few days we will be reviewing as well as studying for the upcoming test on Friday, Oct.22.

In the next few weeks I will be sending home some dates when we are going skating so make sure you child has skates and a helmet to wear.

Thanks!
